چکیده

Design and Method: A right-handed woman with chronic alcoholism demonstrated mutism, impaired comprehension of spoken language, alexia, and righthanded agraphia. The syndrome of interhemispheric disconnection was manifested by left-handed deficit of constructional ability and agraphia. The patient underwent brain computed tomographic scans, technetium 99 hexylmethylpropylene amineoxime–single photon emission computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that also included fluid attenuated inversion recovery images.

Marchiafava – Bignami Disease : CT , MRI and 99 mTc HMPAO - SPECT Findings

We report neuroimaging studies of Marchiafava Bignami disease (MBD) diagnosed on a 39-year-old alcoholic man with acute clinical deterioration. Initially, cranial CT and MRI demostrated diffusely edematous change from the genu to the splenium of the corpus callosum (CC) characteristic for acute stage of MBD. Decreased blood perfusion in bilateral parietal and occipital lobes was also noted in S...
